Ok, I need some help. I've been trying to figure out how to do this for awhile now, and I finally figured it out - except I need a fireware update for my Dell Laptop and I can't find Dell anywhere in the websites i've visited. When I open up DVD Decrypter, apprantley my drive is a HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4241N. Help!

Here is a site to dl f/w, just find your drive, I hate finding f/w for LG drives, it's a real pain.

Actually the 0202 looks like IBM..I believe the A101 should be yours. But to be on the safe side I would make sure.

this really sucks.. something screws up on here everytime i try to do this.. well i downloaded my drive from the fireware website.. and i installed in sucessfully and all that.. but now it's saying an application is attempting to access the hard disk and it can't continue. any ideas?

What is the current media you are trying to use?

This drive is the same drive i have on my main pc and its not a DVD Burner.

U have a CD Writer and DVD Rom Combo Drive thats whats givin u the problem. U will b able to ripp to ur hard disk but u will not b able to burn to blank media.

All these links have ur DVD/CD Writer combo drive on them and it all say DVD Rom not writer.

If it was a writer it would have been written this way.

DVD-R+R/W/CD-RW
