Fliptop problems with Namco and CDs

I've tried my fliptop on 2 different PS2 models and both give me the same problem. When I load a Namco title {Soul Calibur 3 or Smash Court Tennis 2 (original or backup)}, it gets to the "Playstation 2" logo screen then goes blank. The system then starts making a loud scratching-like noise, as if it's having trouble reading the disc. This also happens when I try to boot my Swap Magic CD, but the DVD loads fine (as do most other games). My Smash Court 2 plays fine once I remove the fliptop though. Anyone know what could be wrong?

You Could have the fliptop tightened too tight!

It can be a tight fliptop, what you should do is loosen the screws a little bit, and also make sure you have put the magnet on the new flip top.
