I got a ps2 with a modchip, i got it from my friend and he has no clue what kind of modchip it has and i cant burn and play games...I can play games that ge already gave me burnt, but my own i burn dont work. I ripped iso with DVD Encryptor and burnt to DVD with nero and it doesnt play. All i know is that I use a game shark to start the copied games.

i have no idea, a good mod chip you can just stick in
your back up game and it will play. The only real way
to find out is to open it up and have a look, which i do
not suggest you do without researching everything.
are you using the same speed and media as the games that worked?
are you burning them at the same speed?
Have you tried just using DVD Decrypter to burn the MDS file
rather than DVD Decrypter & Nero?
Have you tried updating your burners firmware?

when you use DVD Decrypter to make a copy from an original
game, you will get an MDS and ISO file. Then you burn the MDS.
if you get them elsewhere and just have an ISO then burn that.

Use DVD Decrypter to burn the mds file:
1. Q. How do I burn PS2 games?
A. Use DVD Decrypter. Guide: http://www.angelfire.com/games6/easytutorial/dvddec/dvddec.html Burn at 4x on an 8x DVD-R.

2. Q. Does the type of media I use matter?
A. YES: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/3/240341
If you're too lazy to read, use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, Sony, TDK, Maxell, Sony or Phillips DVD-R's. Avoid Memorex, Staples, Imation, etc.

It contains info which tells your burning software how to handle it. Cheap media is the number one cause of failed backups.
