have just tried to backup my 4th season smallville and used dvdshrink to rip and encode the dvd's and then burned them with dvd decryptor and everything worked out fine with the first two discs. but when i tried it with the 3rd one, dvd decryptor says that it completed burning the dvd, but there's nothing on the dvd. I tried it several times and even ripped the orignal dvd again.
Open for any suggestions!!i.e. PLEASE HELP!!

Post the decrypter log file so we can try to see what is going on.

Have you tried to rip it to an iso or to files with dvd decrypt and then use DVD Shrink to shrink and burn instead.

What brand writer is this? I can't tell. I would think though that you may need to have a firmware update, or at least it is worth a check. Use the last link in my signature and check the firmware version for your machine. Usually when a writer does not recognize the media it is a firmware issue.

What I don't understand is that the log say writing successful and your comment is

Your media is

MCC is generally considered to be very good stuff. Mitsubishi Chemical Corp. I am not familiar with the id, but I am sure that kivory666 will know when he looks at this thread.

Someone else will look at this shortly.

I have an Emprex (16x, USB) DVD writer. Not a big brand, at least I never heard of it. But I'm not sure if it is the writer, because I just copied the ISO image with clone dvd and it worked. Unfortunately, I don't have the menu, but all the rest (quality etc.) is ok. I was just wondering why it worked with the first two dvd's of this season and not with the third one? And I haven't changed a single thing!

Concerning: "even my dvd writer can't read it" - after copying the dvd, i put it back in and when i try to open the dvd, it just says that i have a blank dvd. i really don't get it!!!

dj_g ,
You might try re-booting the Computer after burning as some external burners need to be re-awaken. Neighbor had the same problem as you do but re-booting cured it.
Also suggest that you d/l DVDinfoPro ( free and you can google for the advert version) and do a CRC Test to see if there are any write errors on the burned media
