I have noticed that when I backup my DVD movies there is a pause late in the film. I think this is moving from one layer to another. However, after that pause many movies keep messing up. They keep pausing every few seconds and actually stop at some points. It gets a still picture and skips on the sound. It is similar to when there is a scratch on the DVD and the player cannot get it past the scratch.

Any ideas on how to correct this? I use DVD Decryptor first and then backup the file from my hard drive onto a DVD with DVD Shrink. I use Philips DVD+R 4.7 gb discs.

I thought it might be my DVD player but it does the same thing on the computer and on my other DVD player.

It also does not do this on every movie.

It could be just a player issue, but probably not. It sounds like a media issue or a burn issue. What speed are you burning at? try to keep it under 4x. ANd what kind of media are you using? A

Please edit out your post, we don't need to know that you ILLEGALLY rent and burn movies.
