Is it possible to play backups with a modchipped ps2?

that is what a mod chip is for, so i don't really understand
the question. The mod chip is by far the best solution
for playing your back up games
DMS4 Pro or Matrix Infinity are the 2 best
you can spend less but you will be sorry in the end when
you are not able to upgrade it like the 2 i listed which have
free updates when they release them

Yes it is. i have read alot on the internet with comments saying it was inpossible to play online with a modded ps2 with chip, but it is possible.When you set up your networkadapter and stuff you will have to turn your chip off because sometimes it doesnt establish a connection with your isp. Now once you get that done you will have to patch the iso of the game of your desire.

Thx again for the info. But turning off my chip would mean i cant play backups right? Also how do i patch my games?

Yes you cannot play the backups if its off. but your just going to turn it off for the setup. Now to patch a game just read other forums here im sure youll find the answer like i did.
