For a while I was using ffdshow, but for some reason this horrible refracting would occur during playback, so I looked into getting another codec pack. I tried to install nimo 8, but it said it couldn't open files to write. I checked the site and it said to move the files it needed to "open" to a new directory and then press retry, so I did that and then deleted the old files from where I had moved them. Files such as msvcr70.dll etc were involved, but now when I play a video I get no codec errors and I don't see the generic graphics screen WMP puts up when it has no codecs, it's just a black screen. I hear the audio and it doesn't attempt to download codecs, I just can't see anything. I uninstalled nimo and reinstalled FFDShow and still have the problem. Please help
