Well I have been burning for over a year now. Been using dvd shrink and Dvd decrypter the whole time. Now after I installed Nero 7 I cant get a good burn whith them. I have uninstalled Nero completly and still cant get a good burn. Nero messed everything up. Is there anything that nero changed that I can change back example: settings or any thing. I have made about 5 coasters now and even though i buy in bulk it is still very frustrating.

What exactly are they doing? Will they play at all? Bad playback quality? What kind of disc are you using?

Could you post a log file from Nero ?

To do so, go here: C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero
Look for a file named "NeroHistory.log"
Open that file up and copy the last log in it.
Then paste it here.

(Don't forget to remove/delete your serial number from the top of the log file. It usually starts with "1A2.-....-.....".)

well Lets see I rip with decrypter in file mode then reauther with dvde shrink then burn with decrypter at 2.4x to a dvd+r ridek- ro3 -oo2. Burn with liteon shoc 1633s. I know nero is the conflict cause i burned the day before i installed then installed noiw cant burn anything. I uniinstalled nero wiped all trails in regedit then tryed to burn again and failed but it was readable. Just had very poor playback. Something changed.James Hanna

multipost, i've requested this be closed as it's here too - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/257782

very confusing to help when ppl spread the problem across threads. pls keep the problem confined to one thread - it gets you sorted quicker...

thats why i said it was odd.i have no idea what that means.i mean the drive is recognized but not as a cdrom peripheral.it might have somrthing to do with having 2 dvdrw hooked on the same ide?

after reading your reply I went in and checked of cd burning was enabled and it wasn't so I enabled it and tried a burn and checked it with DVD rescue and it was fine. So I am going to watch it tonight and see if that had anything to do with the bad burns. If it didn't can I change the port of one device incase it is conflicting?

yeah, you would put one of them on the ide cable with the hd.but you might have to set the jumpers.now that i think of it,the jumpers might be set wrong if the sony isnt being registered as a cdrom peripheral by Nero.have you had any problems with the sony drive?

um I checked it out and saw that the cd writing was turned off on the sony. So I turned that on and now it comes up in the log. But yes I have had some issues with it just recently. I can post the new log if that will help

ive never seen 2 dvdrw on the same ide cable before.i havent even seen a comp with 2 dvdrw on it for that matter.except if one of the dvdrw's is a usb drive.so it might be some conflict with having 2 recorders sharing an ide cable.its just not enough cases of this to know if it causes problems.

but did this burn turn out ok?

watching it later. Is there a way to change which port they use (ide cable as you say)?

yeah, like i said earlier, you have to open up the comp and unplug the ide cable from the dvdrw.then plug the ide cable from the hd into the dvdrw.if you dont know how to do this then you will need a detailed explaination.but if the drives are now working properly then there should be no reason to do this.im not saying that it is the cause of your problems.but if you are experiencing unexplained problems that cant be fixed by normal means then that might be a possible and very unique solution.

well I uninstalled the liteon dvdrw drive to see if that might be it but it is not. And on my log I keep trying force aspi and it still comes up in the log bus type: default(0)-> ATAPI, detected: ?
What is with that is there another way to manually install these drivers?
