I got my chip quite a while ago(.5 - 1 year). Every since I got the chip, I've been having problem loading backups. MOST(maybe 9 out of 10 times) times I get the red screen, but once in a while I can actually load the game!!
I'd had my mod chip installed by a "professional" so i have no idea what kind of chip it is. Also I don't know what version I have, if someone could tell me how to check, I can check the version for you. All i can tell you is my model is SCPH-30001.

PS: it's probably nothing with the laser because I can run oringal game just fine.

What media r u using. Most forums recommend -r media. My ps2 does the same using -r. either bsod or rsod or invalid media errors. But haven't found a +r that I couldn't read. From noname to topnamed media. hope this helps.
