DVD Decryptor????

Hello all,

I have always used DVD decryptor to "back up" my DVD's to my hard drive. Then I would use DVD shrink to tighten it up, and then finally image tool classic and DVD decryptor to write that image back to a single layer DVD.

In the past if my DVD decryptor would error on a disk I would just get the new version and it would always work in the newer version. This happened last night and to my suprise DVD decryptor is no more.

So what software do you guys use now that DVD decryptor is gone?

Can you give me a quick over view of what tools you use and for what? I basically was taught to burn DVD's like a monkey and now that something has changed I am totally lost.

However, the tools being updated now are AnyDVD and DVDFab Decrypter. AnyDVD is $29 and DVDFab is free. I have AnyDVD and DVDFab Platinum edition. Both are very good. AnyDVD is a driver that works in the baclground. You will have to use a ripper or just drag and drop the VIDEO_TS folder from the Disc to the HD. You can also just run AnyDVD and rip with DVD Shrink.

DVDFab should be similar to DVD Decrypter's file mode.

Either way you go, you can still use DVD Shrink. Slysoft also has CloneDVD2, which is sort of like Shrink but more compatible with AnyDVD. There is a deal for AD members who buy both.

If you still want to use DVD Decrypter and also save your money - you can create a 'fix' file for DVD Decrypter. Involves 5 min of your time and some additional time for the computer processing.
