DVP 642 - has difficulties to play DivX and DVD

Hi All!

Recently, I noticed that my Phillips DVP 642 player started to behave like an old man. It has difficulties to play burned DivX movies. The same applies to regular DVDs. When I bought it, it worked perfectly fine. Now, it either says "No disc", or spins DVD for couple of minutes and then gives up. Sometimes it displays partial content of DVD. This problem gradually became worse and worse. To get it working I have to eject and insert media disk many times until it finally loads content properly. Does anybody know why this is happening?

FYI, I just had a chance to hear from another person that she had the same problem with this player. After a while it stopped playing disks for her.
