Im a member of the blockbuster mail order video club. I think its a great deal. I especially enjoy having a whole library of dvds to choose from each month. But lately I have been recieving nothing but broken discs in the mail. 4 out of the last 6 dvds came broken. Is it a pissed off BB employee sending them to me or are they just getting broke in the mail? I even recieved one last week that was the wrong dvd inside the cover. Its not such a great deal anymore waiting on a movie to watch only to have it come broken in the mail.
Just venting!!!
Jack.

call and complain, ask for another disk. could have been cracked by the mail carrier, or in route delivery.

I had the same type of problem with Netflix. Recieved a movie that was so scratched it would not play. Sent it back to them with a note. A few day later got the SAME movie in the mail. Returned again with a nastier note. Recieved the SAME movie a few days later. This time I returned the movie with the note written on the PLAY side of the disc. Recieved a new movie a few days later.
The guys there probably make $5.15 an hour and are pushed to get movies out as fast as possible. Probably have a quota they must meet, so if a movie is screwed up, they don't care. They send the screwed up movie any way cause it helps them meet their quota.

I have nothing bad to say about netflix at all, I've used both online services and Netflix is by far superior. Of course it all depends on how close the nearest mailing warehouse is to you.

I use BB and my son uses NetFlix. Both of our returns go to a post office boxes in Gaithersburg, MD (we're in northern VA). The PO box #'s are very similar. I assume it must be some sort of contracted out warehouse service.

I have to go with BB. I had Netflix for a couple months and it took NLT two weeks for the turnaround. They were getting shipped from Cali to AZ, while BB was from Vegas and they had a 5 day turnaround.
I also had the broken disc problem with Netflix.

My turnaround was only a day or two for both. Netflix hub is only an hour away, and BB was only 2 hours away. My complaint with BB was that they didn't seem to care what order the movies were in your queue, they just sent whatever they wanted, whether it was available or not.

The blockbuster people don't check the dvds that they get back...meaning they don't look inside the white thing you put the dvd in so they don't know if a dvd is broken unless it gets reported. So if someone breaks a dvd but just sends it back without saying anything, then the next person will get the broken dvd.
