I'm having a few problems and need help. I just purchased a dvd burner that came with nero 6.0. I'm trying to copy my 1st movie. I have dvdshrink and once it analyzed the disc, it started to do it all over again.

Then I tried to click on the dvd decrypter software that is on my desk top, and it shut my computer down. Can some one help me out?

Ok, it analyzed all over again because you had the deep analysis option selected. What this does is perform a second pass to give a better result in the quality of the output.

Did you click on DVD Decrypter while Shrink was running? If so then that's fairly bad news. Shrink is very CPU intensive and requires 100% of your processor's power. Depending on your system, trying to open another app with Shrink running could cause a crash.

For a nice guide on doing backups with Shrink look here:

Shrink does an analysis of movies that require compression and then it does an encoding process. Normal for the program.

Are you burning with NERO?

in your other closed thread you asked which was better AnyDVD or DVD Decrypter. Well, you can have both. DVD Decrypter is a must have program anyway, and AnyDVD is great for removing encryptions in the background. AnyDVD is updated regularly and DVD Decrypter isn't updated much anymore. I use both. AnyDVD runs in the background. DVD Decrypter burns too, and can be used as the burner for shrink instead of Nero.

I missed this when I first read your post. DVDShrink will utilize about 100% of your processer so you should not do anything else while DVDShrink is analyzing and encoding or you may lockup or shutdown the system.

I just walk away while shrink is doing its thing. You should also turn of spyware blockers, popup blockers, anti-virus apps as well. No internet while running shrink. Just remember to turn them back on when accessing the internet.
