If anyone can help here is the situation:

I'm taking each two disc part of Lord Of The Rings Extended Edition and trying to place it on one dual layer disc with just the movie. I've re-authored in dvd shrink to include just the movie (both disc 1 and 2) and 5.1 sound with about 80% to 85% compression depending on the part. I've wasted two discs trying to burn (write errors in layer 2 and burning fails). I've only been successful by taking the saved files and burning outside dvd shrink with nero. I've a sony DL burner. The disc plays fine on the pc, but starts to get really jumpy towards the layer break (dvd player is new, but i'm going to test on other players to see if my player doen't like DL media). also if someone knows how to make the second disc resume the next proper number of chapter (eg. capter 27 on disc 1 to chapter 1 on disc 2. I would want it to re-number to chapter 28, count up from there and be seamless). It keeps going to chapter 1 mid disc where the second disc was placed during the reauthor and i cannot go back to the previous scene without restarting the movie. any help would rock...... THANKS
