Hello,
First off I want to say to bad I didnt find this place BEFORE purchasing a ilo DVD Rec. I finally talked my dad into getting one, and in the little over 24hrs has caused me 5 dvds, when using a schedual timer. And even at the 8 hr setting would run out at 2 hrs, and not finalize. I missed 3 movies that were ruined, that I will have to wait and hope they air again.
My dad is out of town, and if I take the ilo back, and dont get another before he gets back Tue. he'll want to forget about getting another, so I have been searching for a recorder for the 100 price, 100-115 what I have for another. The only one I found was Cyberhome, which I read on here is just like ilo.
I finally came upon Daewoo DVD Recorder/Player
Sears item #05757225000 Mfr. model #DVR-06
http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&vert...
Has anyone purchased one of these, or know anything about this brand? Please any help would be appreciated. I only have today (later that is) before class to go exchange the ilo, and go get this one if its ok.

Hmm if the only draw back is no SVideo, or SVCD and VCD playback, thats ok with me, I never use the SVideo, and my xbox is softmodded so it plays SVCDs, and VCDs, and so does my normal DVD player.

Not enough of that model Daewoo out there to really tell if it has any problems .. it is a Sears exclusive .. because of that, personally I'd pass .. I prefer machines that have more support .. Mt LiteOn recorders have several forums dedicated to them

Thanks, well the Daewoo I like cause it says it records to either + or - DVDs, and of course the price.
I have about 150 to spend on a DVD Rec.
Thanks for your input.

Fused0ne-For what it's worth ! You could buy a Liteon 5005 from Newegg for about a $119.00 + shipping I just ordered one after researching it on the web & @ afterdawn.com ! with shipping it comes to about $129.00 or so to my door ! This is still in your price range . And this is the model Catfreak mentioned and he owns two so he knows what they do! The 5005 also records DVD-R & DVD+R as well as DVD-RW ,DVD+RW, CDR, & CDRW ! you can record video onto either format of dvd as wellas to CD ! You canalso record audio only to CD if that is important to you. And Catfreak is right Not neccessarily that DAEWOO"s a bad brand But that maybe you just got a clinker in the one you bought! But as he said it's exclusive to sears ! so you pay their price and you takes your chances! I can tell you from experience that anytime something is exclusive to one chain or LIMITED EDITION you get yanked on the price ! Been there done that ! Also there is a bigger knowledge base about the liteon unit ! If you do decide to get the LITEON 5005 make sure it's just the 5005 model and not the 5005x model the 5005 not X is the better unit from what I've read ! Hopefully this has helped you somewhat ! You may want to read Catfreaks other post as he is very knowledgeable about many things ! Good luck & HapPy BURNONG whatever you decide to do ! Peace!

Thank you, thing is I cant buy online, no credit card, and many places use only that, and I just dont like not being able to see it up front before purchasing.
I though now have a slightly bigger budget, I posted another thread, since this one was mainly about Daewoo, wasnt sure if I should add it here, so I made another.

Hope that was ok to do. Still new around here.
