hey
ive been burning dvds for a while now ive got about 100 or so (all on dvd shrink), but just recently i burnt 5 or so no problems, but when i went to finally play them, my dvd player displayed the message 'no disc'. And my other dvd player said 'unknown disc', now i thought maybe there was something wrong with the disc. but also my pc didnt detect a disk either.
the weird thing is 2 of them worked for a little while (like once or twice) but then they started to skip alot, then more, then it said 'no disc' again. its sending me insane.
i do remember when burning one i saw that dvd shrink 'failed to cache files' but it completed anyway.
finally i turned to the pros here at afterdawn (youve all helped me alot) to see if i could maybe rectify my problem

The problem as you describe it sounds like you burned the movies using low quality blank media. Try Verbatim,Taiyo Yuden, Ritek or Maxell. You can D/L DVDinfoPro(free and you can Google for it) and find out who the real Manuf of the disks are and also do a CRC Error Test on the burned media if you can get the burner to play the disk

I agree with Car.Mike. Sounds like a bad media problem to me.

What kind of media are you using?

What speed are you burning at?

You can get media identifiers at http://www.filepedia.com. You can also itentify the media code in DVDdecrypter.
