Slim PS2 Laser Doesn't Move?!? Help Please!!!

Here's the situation: I tried to install the Summone's Fix with resistors and when I tried to boot a normal game, I could smell smoke coming out of the laser. At this point the laser lens color turn from blue to black so I assumed the lens fried. I took off the Summone's Fix and ordered a new slim ps2 laser and reinstall them. Now when I turn on the ps2 it boots up to that config screen, but the laser part doesn't move at all. I doubled checked that all circuits are plugged back in. The little fan that's next to the ps2 still moves, however the laser part doesn't even move. Any help appreciated.

Check the resistors you applied the fix to, I think you may have fried them.
