having trouble with James and the Giant Peach - Disney DVD

cyclic redundancy error when I try to backup with DVD Shrink 3.2

I have AnyDVD running as well

I'm fairly new at this so any help would be appreciated
or if you know of a topic that covers this
I couldn't find anything here on James and the Giant Peach and a little on Disney DVDs

There is a chance that the disc is bad. Try turning off AnyDVD and running it through DVD Decrypter in File mode.

Also see if the disc is dirty or scratched.

Just a little smudge
cleaned it off and it worked fine

It played on my dvd player so I didn't realize it would make a difference when ripping
Does it normally work this way?

Yeah, when playing there is some room for errors. It may cause a glitch or something, but that's all. When ripping, the software has to read every bit of information on the disc.
