Ive had my Sony drive for only a week now. It started as the 10A but I upgraded the firmware to 500A 1.0g (according to Sony's site 1.0f has only just been released, is my firmware soem hacked version???) and all was fine. I was using bulkpaq gen3 (r2) discs and they were all OK, apart from a little bug in Nero where if you enter more then 2 in the ammount of copies you want it errors the third disc. Then I got some unbranded media from my local shop and they all error. Im using the latest Nero to make the DVD's and it just says 'Error writing disc blah blah'. I went back and tried one of the bulkpaq discs in the drive and that errored as well. I tried my ZeroDefex +RW and that errors..
Ive tried reinstalling windows (XP Pro) because I added a new HD recently and both my hard disks had little yellow exclamation marks next to them in device manager, but that has never stopped the DVD/RW working before, and the DVDRW errored before I reinstalled windows. I have a Datawrite DVD+r that was given to me as a sample but I dont want to use it incase it buggers it up.

Does anyone have any suggestions??
