Hi, I have read a lot of problems with this unit already. I can't even get past where most are having their problems though. I am using Maxell DVD+R for media, and it pauses at 98% formatting for approx. 5 mins then gives me a disc error. I tried a DVD-R just to see because I read someone was using those and they worked for awhile, and although it formatted fine, it wouldn't record anything. Is is the DVDs? I have tried 2 from the pack. Thank!!

Unfortunately the ILO 05 is loaded with problems. I would suggest taking it back for a refund or at least take it back and get an exchange and try another one.
