i have an aladdin chipped 1.6 box with m8_16. Some backed up games have issues though. They tend to freeze either right before or right when the loading screen shows up. I used dvd2box on a few games and Qwix on some others. IGR is disabled (in all 3 locations) in evox.ini. Its bugging me a lot and i want to solve it. Any suggestions?

Im having the same issue except im a noob. Blitz the league, immediately after the start screen, when I press start, it reacts and then goes to black. No idea why. Gun works but this is my second try with a game.

When I first backed up FarCry Instincts I had this problem. I cleared the CACHE folder and that fixed it.

are you copying them from an original disc with
DVD2Xbox? If not what media do you use
and is it +R or -R and speed?

Just curious. I have only done about 12 games so far. I am great with
PS2 stuff but am just now learning all the Xbox stuff. I have done a few with DVD2Xbox and have not had a problem yet.
games i have done are:
Project Gotham Racing 2
Land Of The Dead
Forza Motorsports
Colin Mcrae Rally 2005
Battlefield 2 Modern Combat
Half-Life2 (PAL)
Need For Speed Most Wanted (PAL)
Halo 1 & 2
Gun
call OF Cthulhu
Farcry Instincts

some were with DVD2Xbox and some were extracting an ISO with Craxtion4 and FTP'ing the files to the xbox so i could learn each way.

@GuyInAHat

Try the settings below:
IGR OFF (I know you said you disabled this already)
TSR to Disable
Game region to AUTO

You said you tried to:
1. Riped directly from the Xbox DVD to Xbox hard drive.
2. FTPd the game from the Xbox DVD Drive to your computer making an ISO then extracted the ISO.

So on #2 you extracted the ISO into a folder then FTPed to the Xbox HD? are you trying to play the game off the HDD of the Xbox?

If this is the case what DVD games are you having trouble with?

@iluvpot
Maybe if ya stoped smoking pot you could figure out how to do stuff. hehe J/K
How do you backup your games?
Did you try to clear your CACHE folders then try playing the game?

well with that username i am not shocked that you can't get
them working....hahahaha just kidding.

It may be that you system doesn't like the media you use or speed you burn. I use the same stuff for Xbox as i did for my PS2 games.
Philips 8X DVD-R burned with DVD Decrypter at 4X
Is your xbox modded, do you have a chip?
Like the PS2 you have to mod it to play back ups.
Once you have the ISO it should be a simple burn. Craxtion4
has done a great job for me creating and extracting ISO's

they do not have to be special, just good quality brands
I like the 8X DVD-R (Philips or TDK)
Philips,TDK,Taiyo Yuden,Ritek,Verbatim Datalife
those are the brands i see most people using for both
xbox and PS2. Stay clear of Memorex and no-name brands
also have you tried to see if there are any updates for
you burners firmware? that may also solve the problem.
I am fairly new to xbox stuff, but have done plenty of PS2 games,
movies, and about 12 xbox games and have yet to have a problem.
instead of burning them to DVD you might also want to think about
getting a big HDD and installing it, which is real easy if you can
afford one. Then you can FTP the games to the hard drive.
they play so much better off the HDD then from the disc, the load
times are much faster too.
but first just try some of the media i mentioned, and updating your firmware. you may get some working copies.
they have TDK on sale at Circuit City for $7.99 for a 25 pack which is really cheap.

You shouldnt be selling copies of games. You can get in big trouble doing that. That is piracy. Anyway in order for others to play the backup of the game they would need to have thier Xbox modded. Again I strongly sugest you not sell copies of Xbox games.
