I want to be able to play movies on portable devices like a pocketPC or a SMART Phone. Ideally (since most ripping tools lose chapter locations) I'd put each chapter in a separate file then make a playlist of chapter files so I can skip forwards or backwards.

I figured the process should be as simple as Decrypting each chapter into a separate file. Then renaming the vobs to .mpg files. Then converting .mpg files to .wmv files using a windows script. See below.

No luck. The directors cut audio track plays instead of the normal track. The video doesnt play.

1) Is there a way to split a DVD by chapter and produce VOBS with only one audio stream?

2) Is there a way to successfully batch convert VOBs to WMV files?

3) Is something buried in the VOB header that needs to be fixed/removed before converting to WMV files?

In the past I tried renaming VOBs to .mpg files then running the Windows Media command line script:

cscript WMcmd.vbs -input C:\inputdirectory -output C:\outputdir -loadprofile C:\ProfileThatWorksBest.prx
