Hi All,
I've a strange problem with a Metal Gear Solid 2 back-up: a friend of mine lend to me his back-up of the game, it perfectly works so I
decided to make a copy of it with DVD Decrypter, the copy seemed to work well but when I go to start the game in the novice mode and I
go to open the radio panel after the introductory movie, the one of the oil refinery, it freezes and this problem don't occur when I use the source back-up.
I've burned 3 different types of DVDs but all gave the same result:
can you help me?

Thank You All In Advance. :)

Nicholas

Hi raiden300.
I've tried Memorex, Verbadim and TDK DVDs -R at 2X recording speed because with an higher speed the back-ups don't start.

Thank You For The Reply. :)

forget memorex for a start. verbatim dvd-r should be the way to go. i would try backup the game again using nero. with dvd decryptor the read speed cant be set so its worth a try backing it up with nero instead and setting the read speed lower. also how are you booting the game. modchip, swapmagic etc?
also did you just use decryptor to do a straight 1:1 copy or did you extract an iso first and then burn the iso

The strange thing is just that!
I've tried to do an hardware 1:1 copy of the ISO with DVD Decrypter,
Nero 6 and Alchool 120%, all seems to be done in the correct way, infact no errors of any kind given during the processes, but when I try to use the game the source works and copy dosen't!
Further keep in mind that I've done a lot of back-ups of other games and all of them are fully working, so I'm really confuseed.

Two other things:
1) I'm using a DMS3 modchip in order to start the back-ups;
2) all the tries I've done are based on extracting the ISO first and
burning it after: this is the only way I know in order to do an
hardware 1:1 copy, are there other methods with DVD Decrypter in
order to do it?

Thank You For The Reply. :)
