ok I was thinking of buying swap magic for my PS2 V12 but then
I was on a website and i seen this
http://www.pstwoswap.com/
So I thorght I be able to disable the Switches by bridging it using cable
I Brought a ps2 V12 off a friend and tried it and I think i killed my PS2 I managed to bridge the button on step 7 of the website. but i think i shortcircuited the other one near the reset
http://www.console.com/product_ps2_modchip_disas_v12.php Below Instruction 6
I tried the power and nothing is turning on or any thing :(
Have I blown the mobo or is it the that little chip ?
Thanks
Darren

I know they are switches, why do you think you have blown the motherboard, the first TIME* you tried the PS2 after you soldered the connections what happened? does the red standby light come up?

I meant the first time*, well if the light went dim then it means you have probably blown the main fuse which i think is the F1 on the motherboard.
Here is a diagram of the fuses:
http://www.psrtech.co.uk/fuses/v12-gh-032-fuses.jpg Check all the fuses it is not always the same fuse.
After you find the blown fuse, change it according to the ratings in the diagram, then remove the wires u bridged, and turn it on and it should work, if the motherboard was blown it should have some burn mark on it, but in most cases when the light dims out then never comes on it is a blown fuse.

I think i blew the same fuse, while I was shorting the power button pins after it fell off. Now the red light doesnt come on when its plugged in. My question is where would I get that fuse, and how would I replace it? Does it have to be soldered or does it come out?
