Hey, i recently installed a Modbo V2.0 (yes i know they suck but i didnt realise until i had ordered it, anyway) in my V5 PS2. I was assured by the place that i bourght it from that it would work fine, anyway. I confident in my soldering, but when i boot the PS2 it acts as if there is no chip at all. PS2 games and Backup movies and normal DVDs all work fine like normal, but any foreign or backedup PS2 game etc gives a red screen. I understand that this could be either the 3v power wire, the ground, or the reset wire. But i have checked all these using the multi metre (also checking the other 3v points with the point on the modbo chip to see if it beeps and it does) so im kinda confused. I understand that it could also be the lenght of my ground, but the ground is barely 2cms if that (tho i did ground it to the golden part on the outskirts of the board) is that ok? or should i try a different ground? Also how long should the 3V power wire be max?? im freash outa ideas honesty, unless the place i got it from lied to me lol. Any help please...

I'd suggest checking the rest of your wires with a multimeter for continuity maybe one of that is bad? also, you can try to look for bridging carefully (sometimes these are so small they're hard to spot)

How thick are your power and ground wires?
