If the source material you start with is not of the highest quality, there is nothing magical that can be done to make it better. Tell us exactly what you are trying to do and maybe someone here can help. Are you backing up a commercial DVD? If you're just burning downloaded DivX files to a DVD, it's not surprising they would be of VCD quality.

I agree with laddyboy. Also want to chip my 2 cents...a quality DVD-R will play an important role of having a quality DVD-R playback. Then there's the burn 4x or lower...etc.

I want to burn DivX files into DVD, some of them .mpeg files. After encoding approx. 15hours with nerovision 2, the result is not satisfied me. I can say VCD quality, although I have had already set to transcode high quality with the best encoding mode also, does it actually help to get better quality or not? Or any other solution?

Thanks

lynxxx, NeroVision's encoder is not the best in the world. I suspect your problem lies with the quality of the downloaded files. There are also other proggies like avitodvd. TMPGEnc Author might work for you also. I don't dabble with downloaded content enough to guide you to the best converter/encoder. Maybe someone else can jump in.

nero vision express 3 is the easiest. all the ones ive done take about the same time as watching the movie. if u have a dl that is only 700mb i wouldnt expect too much---average at best. try to get the ones that are 1.4gb or higher. most of them have cd1 and cd2 in xvid. just select add files in nve3 and go from there. after u do this a few times u should be able to figure out the menu options and all the other stuff.
