Has anyone ever just used a conductive pen and just connected the circuit on the solder leads. I broke off the sensor in the back the lets teh playstation know if its open or not. This is not he power buttonm, but the back sensor. Isn't this sensor just an ON OFF switch? If so, what two solder connects is on... I am thinking I could just connect those two connects with a conductive pen and it should work. Any ideas?
I still have the switch... but it is stuck in the cap I got to mod it with. I don't think I can get it out without destroying it... its in pretty tight.
All it is... is a switch. Someone has to know what solder points to connect to close the circuit. That's all it has to be right?
I could try that... but the cap is wider than the switch. There would be no way for me to resolder it back on... without trying to pry it out of the cap. The cap overlaps the solder points where you cant even see the solder points when you place the switch back on the circuit board. This is why I thought I could just connect the leads and not even put it back in there.
If I pry it back out... I will ruin the switch. The kit I got from, I won't name names... says it should fit snug, well let's just say that is an understatement. It is literally jammed in the cap. Soldering the switch back on is OUT of the question. Does anyone know of any other way to fix it?
Yes but the switch that you are talking can be fitted back in. I have done it before, use a pin or nose plier and try to take the piece out of the cap without damaging it, is the actual switch thing still stuck in the cap, if you want to solder the points on the board go ahead, but if i were you i would go and fix the switch First. Post a picture of the cap stuck with the switch in it.
