Using the AVI2DVD guide on this site, I converted a bunch of .mkv files to DVD burnable files. I followed the guide exactly and used the same settings. It did create files that I burned onto a DVD that played in my stand-alone, but I'm displeased with the end result. There's 2 main problems.
First, as I was watching the finished DVD in my stand-alone player, I noticed that the A/V was progressively becoming more and more off synch. By the end of the DVD it was over a full second off. I went back to the files that it created on my computer and used PowerDVD to watch the files from my HDD to see if the problem was with the files created by the program, or if the problem was when they were burned to the blank DVD-R. Sure enough, watching the files from my HDD had the same exact A/V synch problem that the DVD-R had. Does anyone have some advice on how I can prevent this problem with AVI2DVD, or will I have to just try to synch the files manually after they are created? If so, how would I do that?
The second problem was with the chapters. I set it to create a new chapter every 11 minutes, and it did up to the first 10 chapters. After that, I wasn't able to skip ahead anymore. In fact, in viewing the chapter display on my DVD player, it said that the full length of the DVD only went up to the end of chapter 10 (about 1hr 41min), when there should have been about 20 chapters (about 3hr 15min). Oddly enough, if I let the player keep playing after chapter 10, it will keep going for the full 3hr 15min. But when it passes 1hr 41min, if I try to skip to the next chapter or fast forward/rewind, it just stops the disc like it reached the end. Like the first problem, I tried playing the files from my HDD to see if it did the same thing and it sure did. Why did AVI2DVD not create the chapters right and how can I fix it for the future? As for the disc I have now, I know there's re-authoring programs, but which one should I use to fix the chapters?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
