sorry about reposting but i couldnt find any answers. i was encoding madagascar with shrink, then at 36% i got an error message that said dvd shrink encountered an error and cannot continue failed to read file "E:/" incorrect function. any suggestions?

There was no need to post this topic. You were fully aware of the other Madagascar topic, so why did you start this one? I'm not trying to be rude, but if your question wasn't answered in the other topic, then there's a pretty good chance that there is no solution yet. Lots of people are having problems backing up this movie. It doesn't mean we need a million topics about it. Like I said before, I'm not trying to be rude. It's just that it gets frustrating seeing the same things posted over and over again and I'm sure the mods get frustrated as well.

Shrink will not handle this new protection by itself...
I just did this one using AnyDVD/Shrink/Nero with no problems at all..
6 minutes to rip/shirnk and 12 minutes to burn at 4x.
If you don't have AnyDVD then DVDFab Decrypter should do it. And it's FREE..

i did Madagascar effortlessly last night with DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.6.0 (free) then Shrunk with DVD Shrink as normal. what i did do was use my dvd-rom/cd-write combo drive (like io do for most of my ripping); didn't try to rip it on any of my dvd burners as i'd done the movie already but it's always nice to have a couple of optical drives..as if a movie won't play ball on one drive you always have a choice of drives to use..

Ps, colw, sorry, I literally replied to virtually a screenful of madagascar threads this morn, just copy/pasted most of them, I was just determined for madagascar to be a simple fix after the endless slew of threads about it so was ecstatic when I got it to work. If it didn't I was gonna try your solution..
