What program are you using to burn with?

If it is Nero, could you post a log file from Nero ?

To do so, go here: C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero
Look for a file named "NeroHistory.log"
Open that file up and copy the last log in it.
Then paste it here.

(Don't forget to remove/delete your serial number from the top of the log file. It usually starts with "1A2.-....-.....".)

DVD Shrink does not burn. Nero burns it through DVD Shrink's interface.

Like previously suggested:

You need to find out what your burner support, either -R or +R media, or both. Then find out what your stand alone DVD player supports. Then go buy some either DVD-R or DVD+R's then in DVD Shrink, set your backup target to "Hard Disk Folder", then follow this guide to burn the files that is left on your hard drive after DVD Shrink gets done encoding. - http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=221453#p...

Recorder: <QSI CDRW/DVD SBW-241>

I may be mistaken but, this looks like a CDRW burner / DVD-ROM Reader...
