If you want to do it the hard way you can play around with several peices of software that are Free and No longer updated or wait for somebody else to figure it out
Or
You can use the easy Method and download the 21 day trial of AnyDVD using this link
http://www.afterdawn.com/news/archive/6989.cfm
After the 21 days are up if you decide to purchase it please this link to purchase and help support Afterdawn
I know some of the Die Hard Shrink and Decrypterites will probably get upset with this post but the facts are the facts
Dont get me wrong both are very good Programs but the Protections are moving forward and since these programs are no longer updated how can you expect them to defeat these new protections
I have tested this on three different machines none of which had the same Hardare or OS
Programs all had AnyDVD 5.5.1.1 running in the Backround and created a working backup
Programs tested were as follows
Elby's CloneDVD 2 movie only and full disc backup
DVD Shrink Movie only and full disc backup
DVDXcopy Platinum simple and Express mode Movie only and Full disc
Nero's Recode (Same person wrote Shrink) Movie only and Full disc backup
These were all burned an a Memorex DVD-RW rated and Burned at 1x
I know they are old Discs
LOL
Now back to some more test results
Nero 6 Copy disc feature Full disc backup
Roxio EZMC 8 Copy disc feature full disc backup
Both of these were burned on a Verbatim DVD+ R Dual Layer disc
All of them work and play flawlessly on the following Players
Sony DVP NS-715P, Daewoo 5800,Samsung DVD-HD841,Samsung DVD-612,and two different Sony PS2s
Slysoft has a beta release out now you can get from here
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/anyd...
I cant tell you how well this version works because I have not tried it yet
I have discussed these movies the Sofware listed above and results with several of the Mods and former Mods of the Afterdawn DVDXCOPY support forums all of them that have tried the following Movies were also able to create a working Backup
Movies are as follows
Madagascar
Christmas with the Kranks
Devils Rejects
Stealth
Skeleton Key
Charlie and the Chocolate factory
Hitch
All of these titles seem to have Countless Threads scattered all over this site
So hopefully this will help people and help cut down on the duplicate Threads
:)

I agree with all but Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. AnyDVD will not help on this one as there is no special protection.

Also, there is a chance that there are variants of the release of Madagascar. AnyDVD is not working for everyone, which makes no sense.

JaguarGod and oracle
There are no special protections on these titles but I have seen several posts about them here and AnyDVD Does Bypass the CSS protection on it so I wouldnt say exactly that it doesnt do anything for it but these can be done with Decrypter and Shrink My biggest point is that sooner or later there are going to be Discs that these programs will not be able to handle and there are no updates being released for them anymore

As for Madagascar you may very well be right but it was a peice of cake for me I have tried it with other copies that are owned by some friends so their childrem dont destroy them
In the in the results were the same though so I cant completely buy into this theory just yet

Hi,

You all seem very knowledgeable and would like to know if there is a conflict between AnyDVD and decrypter drivers. In the past I had them both and everything was fine, but then (about 2-4 updates to anydvd) after I used decrypter and tried to burn (using Nero or clone) and the burner had desappeared. LOL

???

Just curious if you have AnyDVD installed why use Decrypter doesnt really make much sense to me since you can use whatever program you choose to compress or burn

It's true. I just liked it very much, and thought, since AnyDVD is running in the background..., why not? But, since I started to have this wierd problem, deinstalled decrypter (first lucky try) and the burner stopped disappearing. I'm using shrink (again with anydvd) and don't have a problem. I was just wondering if in fact, there is a driver conflict between those two.
