I've tried DVD Decrypter, DVDFab, AnyDVD and DVD Shrink, to backup Medagascar & Stealth. Decrypter and DVDFab both go thru the normal ripping process flawlessly burning the files to the hard drive with no error messages. Now once I open up DVD Shrink, the files ripped with Decrypter from Madagascar won't appear when opening the folder for analyzing, now for the same movie using DVDFab with DVD Shrink the files are there except title 1, the main movie, needed for backup. For the movie Stealth, once ripped to the hard drive, Shrink once again the folder has title 2 & 3, but not title 1. I'm in desparate need of assistance with these two monsters.

Have you previewed the titles? Sometimes, the main movie is not always "Title 1".

Yes I've previewed the titles and neither title are the main movie, they're the back the scene making of the movie.

That would lead me to believe they didn't rip correctly. You would have to rip it again.

I've been ripping the movies over and over again with the same results. I've even tried other dvds and Decryter and DVDFab works flawless. I recently tried ripping with Any Dvd and DVD Copy X Platinum and received the message prohibiting back of copy material.
So what method or steps should I explore next?

I'm also trying to copy madagascar. DVD Decrypter seems to be working fine, but there is a pause in copying at vts_08. It soon picks up speed again and tells me that decrypting was successful.
But when I try to shrink it with dvdshrink, it won't allow me to do it because of a bad file at vts_08. It's a brand new dvd and isn't scratched.
Any ideas? Thx.

maybe you could try something for me.
1. start AnyDVD running in the background. You will see the icon of the fox down near the clock if it is running properly.
2.Put the dvd disc (movie) in your burner/dvd rom drive.
3.Right click the movie in the drive and then scroll down to explore.
4.Explore the disc, and when you see those video_ts/audio_ts folders, copy and paste the folders onto your hard drive. So you will have a new folder which you dump the files into.
5.Rename the folder the name of the movie.
Now if you get this far repost .If you dont get passed this i want to know what error comes up?
what %percent the disc got to before it failed?

ok basically this means there is a damaged VOB file in the disc.As your disc isnt scratched or dirty its probably been put in there deliberately by the movie companies to stop people from pirating it.You may consider getting isobuster and recovering the data to your hard drive and then burning it back to disc via DVD Decrypter. This method has about an 80% chance of success.See how you go

They have released a new version of DVDFab Decrypter. It fixes the "Madagascar" issue. This is taken from the change log in DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.5.8:
Quote: "2.9.5.8 (11/18/2005)
- Change: Added support for a new protection as found on "Madagascar" (US).
It's not a Sony movie, but the protection is almost same with Sony ARccOS."
Make sure you uninstall your current version of DVDFab Decrypter before you install this version!!
You can get it here: http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm

I had the same problem with DVD Shrink and DVD Decryptor. Try the newest version of AnyDVD running behind DVDFab. Then burn with DVD Clone. Found this combination works well with Madagascar too.

Do you have the latest version of AnyDVD 5.5.5.1? Recommended.
Maybe you have a bad press. Have you tried a different disc?
Post the log file as suggested by andmerr.

Count me in as another guy who used CloneDVD and AnyDVD (running in background) to get my copy of Madagascar.

hey
I was able to copy Madagascar using AnyDVD 5.1.1.1 and lastest DvD Decrypter by ripping the movie into ISO and using DVDShrink. I wasn't able to install the lastest version of AnyDvd so had to use the old version and luckily it worked.
Prior to using the above methods, I had some tough times with Madagascar. First off, I couldn't rip with AnyDvd and Shrink so I found out about DVDFabexpress. I was able to rip the whole movie onto HD using DVDFab but after like 40% into compressing movie with DVDShrink, the process stopped due to memory problems. So I tried like two more times after deleting other dvd rips on the HD to free up memory and setting the paging files higher on HD but the same problem came up.
I then found a thread on afterdawn instructing to use DVD Decrypter with AnyDVD and rip the movie into ISO and use DVDShrink after. That worked like a charm and this time, I had ripped the movie on my other HD instead of the same drive the source files were located. Not sure if I could have did it this way with the DVDFab files.
As for Stealth, DVDShrink did not even get to the analyzing part and gave me some invalid error. DVD Decrypter as everyone knows cut short of the ripping when it got to the VTS file. I then proceeded to use DVDFabexpress and that copied the whole movie in HD successfully as well Dvdshrink after. I am going to burn it now and see if all is well playing in Dvd system. I will update on this.
Update after burn- Movie plays and all is well, have a nice day. Glad I didn't have to use Jaguars method to rip Stealth. So basically I used DvdFabexpress -> DvdShrink -> Nero - all without AnyDVD.
