hello i have a ps2 scph-50003 (PAL), and i want it chipped. which would be the best chip to buy?

i know it depends on what i want.

i want to be able to play backups of imported games (i hate my games being scratched), and obviously backups of my PAL games.

i dont use the ps2 online, so thats not a problem.

and ive read that some chips need a boot cd putting in them, preferably id like to be able to play backups by just inserting the disc.

A Matirx Infinity or DMS4 sounds like your best bet. Check out http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/244546 for more info on chips.

you buy a flip top and Swap Magic
You put in swap magic via the tray as normal.
it will load up and tell you to insert disc
then you open via the flip top and swap the disc for your back up
press X and play.

It is an ok method but the above chips mentioned are better.
they have less issues with loading games from all regions, you
don't have to rebuild any ISO's, and a few other things

It would probably be best to buy a new one from a company instead of from eBay. If you don't think you can install it, you can get it professionally done for about 50 dollars more.
