Puyo Puyo Box... can`t copy, PLEASE help!!

Ok, my PS2 is modded, ALL of the back-ups I`ve burnt from
the net work 100% (cd & DVD). I have the original CD of
Puyo Puyo Box, (Japanese, PS1), and I`ve tried burning it many times
so far with no luck! Every copy will work fine, but then slow and
then freeze at the same point every time I play it. I`ve tried
different burning programs (but like I said, ALL my other
back-ups work), different media, speeds, etc. I`m guessing it`s some
kind of protection. I know it has "Libcrypt", but CloneCD should
be able to handle that.

Do I need some kind of patch?
