V12 Problem

I have a V12 Ps2 with an Apple 70k Chip + neofix. It was working fine then all of a sudden when I turned it on the green light would go on for about 2 seconds and then go back to red. I took the chip out and tested all the fuses and found PS3 fuse had blown. I replaced fuse and now the unit will turn on ok but the laser unit seems dead. I put the laser into another PS2 and it works fine.
Can anyone please help? I've searched all forums but can't find anything that will help
