I've seen you recommend dvd2svcd, but the program isn't rated or tested by afterdawn yet. Is it as good as it claims to be, or is there bug or sync problems? do you know of any user guides for it?

I hate reviewing programs and that's why I don't do it :-) We have seven guys working on this site, I'm the webmaster/newsdude/forumfreak/whatever and avoid software reviewing as much as possible :-)

I recommend DVD2SVCD because it seems to work, has received bunch of good reviews from our users and is relatively easy to use. There's a very good Q&A available for the DVD2SVCD in this URL:
