Messed up PS2 Mod

OK, I goofed. I bought a PS2 (version 7) and a duo 2 mod chip. I am somewhat visually imparred, but I thought that I could install this chip with the help of one of the lighted magnifing glasses. I think that I did it correctly, but it is not working. I didn't realize how small the soldier connections would be. My 7 year old son is um... well, lets just say upset with me. The reason I tried in the first place is that he has scratched a couple of games up bad enough that they will not work any more. I thought I was being clever.

?Any suggestions on what I can do?
?Are their any places that specialize in mod chips that I could send this to for a repair job?
?Are there any reasonably priced places online where I can buy a premoded PS2? I have seen lots of used PS2's for sale for around $60 - $75. I can get a chip for less then $50. Total price, $110 - $125. I am willing to pay someone for their time and energy of installing one, but the ones I am seeing online cost $350.
