Compared to the image seen on the camcorder LCD display , the image on the hard drive appears much darker. Some items visable on the camcorder cannot be seen, if they are dark, and, on a dark background. EG. A tv remote on a black stool, totally invisable on the PC and the DVD produced .
Anyone know where I would attempt to compensate for this ?

i dont know much about camcorders but if you transfer it to PC you can try something like Nero Vision Express and add brightness to your video...
