Okay, I've been lurking for a while and looking, all I have to say is that most people do the biggest DO NOT for a softmod.
First: If your softmod goes wrong DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING! The most common occurance that I've seen is that people delete their dash, killing their ability to be able to easily ftp. Also, I have seen people format their c/e drives, BIG NO NO! The E drives Udata folder contains all your gamesaves. If you delete this, you will lose your gamesave, and will lose your ability to ftp to your xbox. When you lose your ability to FTP to your xbox and don't have an M$ dash to copy the gamesave, your messed up pretty much.
Second: If your softmod goes wrong DO NOT TRY TO FIX IT YOURSELF! Another thing that I have seen on here is that people try to fix it themselves. By fixing it, they usually mess it up more.
Third: ERASING THE EVOX/UNLEASHX DASH WILL NOT UNINSTALL THE SOFTMOD If you erase that it is still possible, to ftp, but is a hassle. Instead, your exploit installer, should contain an uninstalation option. Or restore Xbox. BEFORE you do this, make sure you erase any games you have on the hdd first.
Yup, I did one of the big no nos. When I used AID, I got error messages when installing the MS Dashboard again. I formated my E and C drive. Then I took out the DVD. I tried to put it back in again but my xbox wans't softmodded anymore. I have a backup of my E drive on my computer, its just I can't FTP anymore because I have no way of getting to a networking screen on my xbox. Is there something I can do??? PLEASE HELP!!!
