Hi,
I used to use decrypter and shrink for my dvd backups of movies
SO I would take the dvd, use decrypter to rip it to my hard drive, then use shrink to edit it out and take the trailers and subtitles, etc. out.
Now that decrpter is no longer updated for the encyrption removal I was going to try dvdfab platinum. Is that a good option?
But with dvdfab I don't see a way to actually take out the subtitles and stuff as well as change the encryption level?

So now that I am going to use something else other than decrypter then what should I replace decrypter with?
Also for shrink
If I want to keep the menu's but increase the quality then how do I do that? Do I just increase compression on the titles and stuff and then try to get the compression as low as possible on the main movie?
And I like to use nero for burning but dvdfab doesnt'seem to give that option?

If u want to replace DVD Decrypter and u are using DVD Fab thats ok. To remove the subs and traliers u can still use DVD Shrink to remove them. Also another program that is grat is CloneDVD 2.

thanks, so what is better clone dvd of dvdfab?
How can I do this the easiest way? I dont' even mind just doing a straight copy, do you really notice a difference if you dont take out the trailers and stuff to get the best compression?

What if I had a dual layer dvd burner, will a regular dvd player play that to a tv?

If u want to get a free application that does the job DVD Decrypter is good enough cause it does both Decryt and burn in iso mode. DVDFab Decyrypter is good because it can do the new encryption.

CloneDVD is the best in my book but u need to purchase it or if u know other ways of gettin it do soo.

Read the guides in my sig, they will help heaps.

I agree with borhan9, dvdfab decrypter will probably perform the task. I still prefer DVD Decrypter with AnyDVD running in the background. Of course AnyDVD is not free but is most likely inevitable.

You've started seven threads on nearly the same subject. Multiposting isn't allowed because it needlessly clutters up our forums and makes it difficult for those helping you. There's a link to the forum rules in my sig - I suggest you read them buddy ;)

Thanks and sorry for the multiposting.

OK, I am going to use AnyDVD with CloneDVD.

Can anyone tell me how to do this exactly from loading the dvd to making my final copy?
