Well I would think the ty stands for Taiyo Yuden but you never know. Do you have a link you can post for us to check them out?

yea they do a range of these ty discs.ive taken a gamble and ordered im just hoping these are going to work as the last lot of dvds i got were cmc discs(costly lesson learned) i should recieve within 2 days and i will post the identify results as this is a great price.thanx for responses people

i like how the link states they can't "actively promote" since they are OEMs LOL~ :) what i found even MORE amusing was the fact they said you could probably "guess" what TY stands for AHHAHAHAHAHA. :)
you should be just fine with those 7zark7, those SHOULD code out as TYG01 4x DVD-R genuine Taiyo Yudens :)

as a "double check" when you DO receive them, check on the top of the disc for a laser inscribed serial number that begins and follows THIS format: "GD000xxx" where xxx represents a numerical value of the batch number as to when they were made~
if you see the "GD" beginning, you will be just fine.

just done a dvd identify and they came back as taiyo yuden ltd TYG02.i checked the top lke kivory suggested and the code was GG000110.now 2 try them out!

looks like they sent you the 8x DVD-R for the price of the 4x DVD-R TYs~ WOW, seems like we have another winner here in the "lucky dept." in regards to TYs~ :)
(i have ordered THOUSANDS of TYs that were listed on the various websites as the 4x DVD-R, but have NEVER, not even ONCE, received kinda a "free upgrade" to the 8x DVD-R for the price i paid for the 4x...many, many others here have gotten "lucky" as well, to receive the 8x TYs for the price paid on the 4x TYs, i just haven't been so "lucky" myself~ )
but, yes, if they sent you the 8x DVD-R...TYG02 coded..and the GG000xxx coding checks out JUST FINE...
on the 4x DVD-R TYG01s = GD000xxx just outside the hub area
on the 8x DVD-R TYG02s = GG000xxx " " " " "
good luck and let us all know how you fair with them...you got yourself some "good stuff", so, you should be all set~ :)
