I have been trying in vain to backup this movie for two weeks. DVD Shrink ripped until 35% & met with errors at VTS 8_01 VOB. So I used DVD Decrypter & ripped to my HDD in full. From the log, something was mentioned about 2 dummy sectors were inserted into VTS 8_01
After completion, try to open with DVD Shrink but message appeared 'Invalid data in VTS 8_01'
Then I used Nero 6.6 to burn from HDD to a DL disk. Surprisingly it works & able to play on my DVD player. Then I open this DL disk in DVD Shrink & now it can ripped & compressed to a DVD5 disk.
How come DVD Shrink can't open this folder on my HDD & Nero can?

hi, i complete the backup of madagascar by this way:
Open Any DVD 5.3.2.1 with CD in the drive and let open background
Open VOB Blanker 2.0.0.2 and select input folder as your drive with cd. to select output folder, create a file on your hard disk then select process directly in the file you create.
After process terminate put a new DVD in your drive and execute DVD Shrink 3.2 you have just to select the file on your hard drive.

I finally was able to back-up Madagascar and also Stealth.WhatI did was,I read on a thread to uninstall Shrink and re- install,get the most recent copy of Dvd Fab.Had Any Dvd running in backround ,set DVD Decrypter in ISO MODE WRITE-SPEED 4x then close,then establish a folder in the drive I WANTED TO SAVE THE MOVIE(eg;G DRIVE -DVD FOLDER).Then open Dvd FAB ,INSERT ORIGINAL MOVIE, hit start.When finish ,close.Insert blank in drive OPEN Shrink.IF you have not set -up SHRINK go to Edit>Pref>Target>set target size to Custom in the pulldown and change size to read 4300,check auto open and run analysis ,if not already checked .Go to re-author click open.Got to drive ,you save movie click open select movie,click open.Select movie title click open (analysis should begin)When done Select BACKUP.IN BACKUP SELECT TARGET IMAGE FILE.IT SHOULD READ ISO DECRYPTE,if not make adjustment .MOVIE will then encode and begin transfer to DVD Decrypter .SIT BACK AND WAIT IN 14 MINUTES YOU GOT YOUR BACKUP.ITwork for me ,Good Luck

Hello Locoeng,
I'm new to this so please bare with me. I downloaded DVD FabDecrypter 2.9.5.8 and used it to I guess deecrypt the movie, "Madagascar".
Once it finished I opened my DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 and tried to open the files. It started, then an error message came up..."failed to read file "C:\Documents and settings\Work\Desktop\All DVD Work\DVD\Video_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB"
Invalid access to memory location.
Any suggestions?
I origanally used DVD43 in the background, then used my DVD Shrink to select just the main movie and everything went just fine. Everything completed without hitch. But once I put it in my home DVD Player it never started the movie. Although I could skip it to chapter two with no problem and it played just fine.
Thanks,

What is it about DVD Decrypter's ISO mode that can rip these movies?? I wonder, if it works like that, would mounting the image with something like Daemon Tools l=make it work with Shrink???

@global
Try the 21 day free trial of AnyDVD running behind DVD Shrink and see if there is a difference.

The corrupted or encrypted file is the one that is giving you the error. Do as I suggested in my first response. Download the AnyDVD 21 day free trial here: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/anyd...
Disable or uninstall DVD43( you can always go and get it again, its free) and run AnyDVD behind DVD Shrink, and let us know how it goes. If you have the proper progs there is nothing special about the newer movies.
Also in DVD Shrink options make sure that your target size is set to 4300, and when burning with DVD Decrypter dial back your burning speed to no more than 4X's.

@Jaguargod
DVDD rips it to ISO just fine. The problem that I ran into was when I tried to open it with Shrink. Thats when I got the errors.

I,too, have problems burning Madagascar. first it was shrink then decrypter but it went to 36% before developing a cyclic reduncey error. then I tried Defab with shrink and decrypter but it didn't work. it had problems with the vt-8 file, couldn't find it. Defab copied everything but somehow when I went to reauthor in shrink it wasn't there. now here is a strange thing. I went and used to decrpyter to read only with main movie and ifo to burn, everything went smoothely but when I went to shrink to reauthor the file was there but the movie wasn't. it was a blank file yet when I go directly to the hd and the file it is in, the file exist, so why not showed it in the shrink reauthor file.
This movie is driving me crazy. any help will be appreciate and will take up the suggestions from above.

This is what I have done to copy. First I use DVD Decypher and copy the entire disk. Next I use DVD Shrink and do a re-author for just the main title and then use Nero 6.0 to burn. It tood me several hours to get this figured out. It turned into a quest.

okay, I am still having problems with Madasgascar burning. I bought the ANY DVD to run behind the movie, and tried almost everything from decrpyt the movie then shrink or just the main movie. When I burn with Shrink and AnyDVD it stops at 36% or vts8_1 VOB or like I said before I decrypt the movie alone but when I re author it , the movie files don't show up in the Shrink but it is on the harddrive. I tried with Nero 7 rom burning and that doesn't worked either.
HAs anybody come up with anything. I tried all your suggestions but nothing works, I have a Benq 1620 and using verbatim discs.
thanks

@chewbkka,
I'm also kinda new to this, but i had no problems at all. If you have AnyDVD and shrink and burning in 'iso' mode with DVD Decrypter, it should work for you. I think you must have a bad disc, take it back and exchange it for a new one. If you tried everything else, thats the only thing left.

Hooray to Movies 27 amd Bunnygod.
Have used AnyDVD and Shrink for a long time but had trouble with Madagascar. Downloaded a trial version of Clone DVD 2 (which I was able to navigate very easily) and hey presto worked a treat.
Three cheers to AnyDVD and CloneDVD 2.

i did Madagascar effortlessly last night with DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.6.0 (free) then Shrunk with DVD Shrink as normal. what i did do was use my dvd-rom/cd-write combo drive (like io do for most of my ripping); didn't try to rip it on any of my dvd burners as i'd done the movie already but it's always nice to have a couple of optical drives..as if a movie won't play ball on one drive you always have a choice of drives to use..
