Okay, so I don't know if I'm even in the right thread, but I need help burning downloaded movies to a DVD. I am a newbie so I don't know much technical stuff. This has probably been explained before, but I have looked into a lot of threads and haven't found one I could use. I do have a DVD burner, DVD-R's, DVD+R's and DVDRW's. I have everything I need. I also have DVD Shrink, AVI2DVD, Apollo DVD Copy, TMPG whatever you call it, WinAviVideoConverter, and probably other programs as well. I was reading a good guide that explained every step, but the version of TMPG whatever he was using must have been different from mine because it doesn't have a File menu. DVD Shrink gives me the message that it can't find files when I know there are some there. AVI2DVD generates an error as well and WinAVI VidCon I just downloaded last night. Everything seemed to be going okay until it was 99% done and it also generated an error. I don't know if I am doing something wrong because I have no clue how to use this software. The movies I want to burn are mostly in AVI format. There are some in MPEG also, but not as many. Please help, I don't know what to do anymore!

The easiest program I find is NeroVisionExpress3, all you have to do is drag either the AVI or MPEG files into window and continue to hit next to Burn stage. NVE3 will convert the files for you, heres a link for NVE3, all you need is package 2 http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/nero-up.php

Thanks. I'm in the process of downloading NVE3. I hope it works! I don't have time to try it out right away, but I will try it tonight. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks again!

Ok, so I opened NeroVision and it says NeroVisionExpress 3-SE. I don't know what the SE means, but I don't have the Make DVD and most of the other features that are on the pic in the link you sent. What is going on? I downloaded it from the link you sent as well. I am getting so frustrated with this crap. What do I do now?

@kayla2, I know how frustrating it can get I've been there. I dont know what happened with your download as you are the first to report that, heres a link to trial version of Nero try that and see how it goes. http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/Trial_Versions.html

I have Nero on my computer already but I didn't have features to make DVD's before and the ones that did, would not open my files. But I fooled around a bit and clicked on Make a CD then Make VCD or something and I got the same screens as you did. So it must be the same thing. I tried to open files that I had that were abour 150 mb but when I uploaded them to Nero, it said like 345 mb. Why is that? I could only put part one of the three parter of Sin City I had because all my other movies were too large after that add on. Is it because of the menu? I have no clue. But I clicked Burn and it seems to be doing ok for now. It says there is about 20 minutes left in the burning process so I guess I will write back then to let you know how it goes. Or before that if it does not work yet again! I don't care if I only have one part of the movie on the disc because right now I am just curious in finding out how it works! I'm crossing my fingers.

Ok, going to that link you just posted did nothing so I went and downloaded NeroMix and NeroNet, but that isn't doing anything. What do I do now?

Hikayla2, sorry I took so long getting back to you, I cannot explain what went wrong with Nero, heres a link to Nero Clean tool, delete Nero completely from your comp, run this clean tool and re install the first nero package I directed you to. Some times Nero can be a little strange so hopefully this may help. http://www.nero.com/us/Nero_6_Clean_Tool.html

Ok, so I clicked on that link for the cleaning and it directed me to a totally different page asking me to download Nero 7 Ultra Edition. I am going to scream soon!!!

NeroVision Express 3 still came up with SE in it and without the Make DVD feature. I will try the other suggestion and write back in a bit.

I am going with arniebear's guide for now. I am in the process of using DivX to DVD Converter. There is about 25 minutes left and we'll see where I am after that! I didn't read the other post early enough and I didn't check the Burn to DVD or whatever box, but that's ok because I am going with what the guide tells me to do for now! Hopefully that works! I wonder why I am getting all these problems??

@kayla, you are not alone, as I said there is a forum devoted to Nero just click on top right of page and select Nero forum then you will know. Please get back and let us know the outcome. Most of the progs you have arent really needed.
