I have CloneDVD2 as well as ANY DVD....they are up to date with the updates etc....but....whenever I go to make a copy of a DVD movie, either it works on some DVD Players (non computer) and not others, or it does not work at all and has alot of pixels in it..or just plain stops.

And sometimes this happens even if it says 100% in the quality bar.

I am so perplexed...I thought this was be the end all for my DVD collection....

Is there something I am doing wrong? If it helps..I am using COMP USA media, I burn at the slowest speed on my laptop etc...

I would appreciate and all help.

Thank you very much!!

your problem lies not with your setup/computer, it LIES WITH YOUR MEDIA~ :) compusa media is subpar...they use a variety of the MOST INEXPENSIVE manufacturers to make their media...switch to something GOOD and you will notice a definite improvement in your backups~ :)

suggestions per my sig. would be a good start~ Taiyo Yuden/Verbatim are always good bets~ :)

docTY~

for a little example of what i mean about Compusa media:

CompUSA DVD+R 4.7GB OPTODISCOR4 4x (crap Optodisc SUCK)
CompUSA DVD+R 4.7GB INFOME..R20 4x (u got to be kidding me, even WORSE than Optodisc)
CompUSA DVD+R 4.7GB AML.....001 4x (it just keeps GETTING WORSE!!)
CompUSA DVD-R 4.7GB PRINCO...... 4x (good lord, not Princo!)
CompUSA DVD-R 4.7GB AML......... 4x (as mentioned earlier...AML should stand for "always mother-load" in reference to the CRAP they bring to the table) :)

u really need to get discs that have better manufacturers, heck, choose ANY OTHER name brand and it will be better than the discs you have now..even Memorex with their attrocious CMC MAG manufacturers are better than those Compusa ones (NOT IMPLYING you should get Memorex, that was mearly an example of comparison, i picked the BOTTOM OF THE RUNG in terms of "brand name" dvd media to compare to the utter crap you have been using to illustrate a point)~ :)

Recommended Media:

Taiyo Yuden 4x dvd-r TYGO1/ 8x dvd-r TYGO2/ 8x dvd+r YUDEN000T02/ 16x dvd+r YUDEN000T03
Verbatim 8x dvd+r MCC003
Verbatim dvd+r DL (MKM001)= flawless no compression backups

I agree, what the problem is, is the media. YUCK!! I have had over 700 successful burns with CloneDVD and AnyDVD, although i made the mistake of using cheap media, like starlogic and sometimes the pixelation occurs and the movie freezes. that is because i burned to fast for the media, and the playback couldn't keep up. i use nothing but sony (made in japan) or ty's. supermediastore.com-check it out. You might as well, just hand the rest of your media out to the homeless, or start hanging them on your christmas tree as ornaments.

Listen to the Doc, Take two Taiyo Yudens and call him in the morning.
Better yet head on over to www.supermediastore.com

http://www.supermediastore.com/taiyo-yuden-silver-thermal-8x-dvd-...

These are good to start, if you have an older burner, try the 4X disks that can also be found at the site.

Best Buy, Office Depot, Office Max always have sales on their media, You can find the good stuff at a reasonable price if you just look hard enough.
(Doc I would recommend Verbatim but I still haven't tried them 'cuz I have 100's of FUJI TY's left over from my numerous raids on BJ's last month and the wife would kill me if I brought in any more.)

Actually if I'm correct, they are blank on top and you can write with a sharpie to your heart's content...
This link takes you to the Taiyo Yuden 4X media that I also have to use up after my Fuji MIJ's run out, (Still have about 60 Ritek G-05's sitting on the shelf as well so I probably won't be buying any disks until summertime)
