PS 2 Mod Chip not Booting Up

I had a mod-chip installed in the past and recently I was trying to load a dvd-backup. The back-up played only once . There is a trick for booting up the mod-chip I believe and its like you have to hold the reset button for 10 seconds or something. I also noticed that when upon bootup the White PS2 logo appears the backup willl play. I am stuck here, any help would be really appreciated.
