The above link was a topic that I jumped into as I recently purchased a lightscribe (well lacie said it was) burner with color capabilities. Somewhere in the middle I used an example of what I felt was wrong. In lieu of my post I can say I apologize for seeming to attack but the fact is it was a personal opinion. I am human we all make mistakes, we all must live by our beliefs and respect others. yes I am long-winded but in my profession (US Army) and being responsible for many I am sort of rigid in being thorough. I have no problem apologizing when I am wrong. Usually staying clear of inciting a flame war I did get a smoldering fire going. Again sorry got out of hand due to my observation. From this point forward no longer will I indulge in text boxing....just thought it was being a man to admit wrong-doing in the safety valve.

to burn or not to burn that is the question

i'm sometimes a little too close to a few smouldering embers, the nature of dealing with ppl onscreen lends itself too easily to arguments. i try to grit my teeth and save my frustration for work :)

i am very thorough also (i happily admit to being quite square) and it's far too easy to be baited by someone/something; the other side of that coin is that being the way i am tends to also cause other ppl (sometimes) to think i'm having a go at them or they misinterpret what i'm all about. i always (try) to just back off, always easier said than done though!

i'm always apologising for something or other, too, in my case i think it's usually for forgetting something lol :)

yeah after reading it several times I did see where it could seem personal. Think I will have the cooler head and read some more old topics.

Hi gurnard,

I will stick to lurking or avoid hostile fire..besides I learn something new here everyday.

@creaky

Since we get limited channels here, at night we see rugby..still don't understand the rules but I like the brutal hits I've seen unleashed.

No need to stick to lurking here, matt. I see you help quite a few people around this forum. And if you have to stick your 2 cents in sometimes, sobeit....we all have to.

But avoiding hostile flame is always a good idea ;)

Oh how they do! [edit] - nice flames, ireland ;)

I have had one or 2 flames with newbies, but just recently I have stopped before getting in too deeply.

I just think "hold up, they are going to get banned in a moment anyway, and there are people out there who need help, good, polite and decent people"

And then I just leave

@Lethal_B,

Thanks I meant lurking just reading some old posts. Was looking at some really old posts from the senior addicts and noticed how the tone in their replies have grown and shows alot of wisdom. But you are right sometimes to make a point you have to speak up. Going off to read some more of this sony info Ireland has interesting.
