Ok. First time poster here. I'm having problems with path of neo for ps2. It's the usual problem, first code loading screen and it freezes. I'm using TDK media, burned at 2x with nero, and using SM 2.0.

I've read here about rebuilding the game. But thing is. I burned the dvd, and decided to take a look at it in my pc. If I right click on the dvd drive, and choose properties, it tells me that the dvd is full at 4.36GBs. But If I open the disc in windows explorer, select all files, and go for properties again, it tells me that its only filling about 3.55GBs. Could this be the problem ?

If so, can I make an ISO of this disc and try to rebuild it ? Please reply.

Thks in advance.

Hey, I read a little earlier in the day in a thread regarding Path of Neo. Did you get this through a torrent or off the actual disk. As some people have reported that the torrent ISO you should be able to just burn off and be set to go.

I have a copy of Path of Neo, if you give me a bit, I'll see if I can get it to backup and get it working, then I'll give you my speks. As I use TDK Media, burn it at 2.4x and use SM 3.6 =) So I'll give it a shot and see what happens.

Sure but I was under the impression that only original SM disks worked and the backups of those wouldn't? I could be wrong as I'm no expert by any means. =)

supposedly in another forum someone said you put in swap magic 2.0
then load it up and then insert 3.6 load that up then load up "matrix path of neo" and it should work

No problem, just made me curious, I think I understand what you mean, piggybacking from 2.0 to 3.6 to Path of Neo. Hopefully it works for you to give you less of a headache, I've heard that even sometimes after successful burns it loads up the code and then locks up instead of finishing.

First of All, Disc Files Are much bigger than the files on the Hard Drive , e.g - ISO = 3.89 gig (harddrive) DISC ISO = 4.09 (Disc).

Try Rebuilding it like this,

Hello, I have seen so many people asking about how to rebuild ps2 games and also I have seen alot of people complaining that their rubuilding method doesnt work, well i've gone to the trouble to makeing these guides and making it more easier to understand, sort of like in noob langauge. I have also put pictures so alot of people can understand it :, this guide if done correctly can play the hardest games to play for swap magic eg. Star Wars BattleFront 2, Fifa 2006, NBA Live 06, Madden NFL 06. This guide was particulary made for dummies in noob language so that everyone can understand.

Tools Needed & Where to Download:

Dvd Decrypter http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_...

ISO Buster http://www.isobuster.com/dl.php?v=1&l=0

CD/DVD ROM Gen http://home.versatel.nl/joeriroels/Download/cdgen_15.rar (Credit to UCBEEF for this]

Apache2 http://www.backuptools.co.uk/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=geti... (Not the server based stuff that you find in google)

Good Media, I wouldn't use 4x DVDs, they get currupted in a week or so.

THE METHOD

1) Open DVD Decrypter and Left Click Mode>ISO>Read if its not alreaddy done so, next left click the destination folder and put the iso in a specific folder eg-FIFA06 if its fifa 06 and name the iso fifa06, press ok and than you press the Dvd Decrypt button which will take up to several minutes to burn the ps2 ISO to your hard drive.

2) Close Dvd dycrypter and open ISOBuster, Left Click File>Open Image File and look for the ISO you just decrypted, highlight it and press ok and it will show you the whole contents of the ISO. Left Click the highest file in the iso and hold shift and left click the lowest file of the ISO and it should be all highlighted (check the pic).

Right Click the hightlighted part and press Extract Objects, Extract them to a folder you would remember where you'd extract that too. (EG. Extract the Battle Front files to a folder called Battlefront 2 Files.) Leave ISO Buster as a reference.

3) Next Open CD/DVD ROM Generator, make a new project left click DVD-ROM Master Disk. Now open My Computer and go to your local disk and look for your files from the iso you extracted by ISO buster. Keep ISO buster visible, the cd/dvd generator visible and the folder full of the files visible. Look at the iso buster first file at the top, drag that from the folder to the cd/dvd gen and keep on doing it in the same order in iso buster. See Pic below

After all files is placed in correct order, Left click the volume TAB at the left of the pressed directory tab, and youll be taken to a new window, these next steps will be divided into two sections: (see the pic)

A-The disk name: put the exact same numbers / letters from the folder with the file that says sles [number] / slus [ number]. Example for me, my file said SLES_535.01, so i typed in SLES53501 in the Disc Name Boxes. Check Picture

B- Producer Name- ALWAYS PLAYSTATION, and for the Lincense area, Depends where you are, Eg If you are in Europe put europe.

Now After that has all been written down. Left Click File>Export IML File & put it in a folder you'd know you remember or on the desktop like I'd usually do. It would come with 2 files, 1 .iml and other .ims like in the pic \/ \/ \/ \/

4) Now open Apache2 and left click File>Import IML

Now you will see all the files you listed in order and press File again and press Build ISO, it will have a loading screen at the bottom on the percentage of the building iso. it will say when its done building the iso

5) Now you have your fully rebuilt ISO, The ISO will be rebuild and placed where your iml is so if your iml is on the desktop, the iso will be in the desktop.

OPTION-This is the time if you want to Patch your DNA file if you want to go online with the backup, go to this site if you want to know how to patch your iso to be online compatible
http://on-line.ps2nfo.com/
This doesn't need to be done if you dont have a router or your not going to play online.

Now Open DVD Decrypter and set the mode to write (MODE>ISO>WRITE), Place your DVD-R into the DVD-RW drive and look for the source, look for the newly rebuilt iso and select it as the source to burn.

And Finally set the burn speed to low and press the Burn Button and enjoy your newly rebuilt ISO which can now be played with swap magic.

Hi guys, I managed to find an original PAL Path of Neo, and I tried to back it up. I followed all the steps in the rebuild tutorial that 3dluis posted here, but I'm having a problem with Building the ISO with Apache2.
It's like, everything goes great, but when building the ISO it sort of freezes at 99%. The wierd thing is, that I left it running, thinking that it was normal, but when I got back to it, it was still stuck at 99% and the ISO file that it was building was near 5.5 GBs !!

What am I doing wrong here ? I've read that the rebuilt ISO for Path of Neo is around 3.7 GBs =\

Personally I wouldn't touch the CD/DVD Gen rebuild method with a ten foot pole. I rebuild using Nero and IsoBuster. If you own an original copy of SM 2.0, you can use that to boot a burned copy of SM 3.6. Then you swap as normal. The advantage of doing this would be it eliminates the need for DVD Loader, CD Loader, Cogswap loader, or Zone Loader. The bad thing is it's an extra swap. It's still probably worthwhile if you own an original copy of SM 2.0 and you are having problems with a newer game. Especially if you're too cheap to shell out the $20 for SM 3.6.

11. Q. How Do I rebuild games?
A. With Nero and Isobuster (works as long as no single file is over 2 GB's): http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/197949
With CD/DVDGen: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/210515

Yeah if you want to copy this game and don't want to spend money, gamefly has a 10 day free trial. Go to gamefly.com. You do need a credit card to sign up. There is like a $1 service fee on your CC. As long as you cancel before the ten days is up, it'll only cost you a $1. I actually kept my membership because I like the games coming to me through the mail. I couldn't find an active torrent for Soul Reaver 2 anywhere, so I rented it from them.

Guys I'm new to this forum. Great site. Anyway, I've been having some troubles burning games too, but not with the Matrix Path of Neo. I downloaded an ISO and burned with Nero. Straight 1:1 burn with no issues. And it loads with SwapMagic 2.0. Don't know how I got this game to work cause I haven't been having any luck with other games.

Also Tokijin I rebuild with CD/DVD Rom Generater and I've been having problems. You said it's not good for rebuilding so what's a better program? That'll be good if u can provide a link to any software too.

No you misunderstood me. 3dluis' guide will work, I just think rebuilding with Nero and IsoBuster is a lot easier. There are a lot more steps involved with the CD/DVD Gen method and lot more chances for user error. Nero and Isobuster is very simple to use. Either one will work, it's just a matter of preference. If you can't get it with CD/DVD Gen, try the IsoBuster method. The order of the files doesn't matter with Nero and IsoBuster. I rebuilt NBA Live 2006 for a friend, and I lost track of the file order, so I just highlighted all the files, copied them into Nero, then burned a UDF/ISO DVD. It plays great. This may not work everytime, but at least it worked with NBA Live.

Nero: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_applications/n...
IsoBuster: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/isobuster.cfm
DVD Decrypter: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_...

Did you alraedy find the solution, 3dluis? Because with Apache 2, i have the same problem. The ISO-building freezes at 99%. When trying to burn the ISO-file with DVD-decrypter, i've got the message that the file is to large. When trying to burn the ISO-file with Nero, i've got the same message (larger than 2 GB. Hopefully you find the solution. Excuses for my poor English (i'm from Europe).
