I use DVD2AVI and I have noticed that sometimes it displays in the status window NTSC in the video box and sometimes it says film or film 99%. Is this normal?

I think it has something to do with the aspect ratio when you have multiple angles to choose from when using smartripper. Can anybody confirm this?

FILM == 23.97fps
NTSC == 29.97fps

If the FILM % is higher than 97%, normally it means that the material is telecined from 23.97fps to 29.97fps (added dummy frames) and it can be converted back to 23.97fps by using IVTC (inverse telecine).

I have no idea what you just said but the bottom line question is: will this ever be a problem as far as framing for TMPGEnc?

One page that I strongly suggest everybody reads through before asking anything, is our glossary:

Explains to most basic questions, IMHO :-)
