My best backup is one where the game works but the music cuts out... if I figure it out I will post again.

looks like i got it to work. I extracted the files with isobuster, then eported the .iml file with cdvdgen. imported the .iml with apache 2.0 and rebuilt the iso. burned with DVD Decrypter at lowest possible speed. so far so good.
