Hi Forum readers.

I have just purchased Swap Magic version 3.6 and am having problems getting my games to boot in NTSC. I have a PAL PS2 70003 (slimeline) and am using it in the United States. All my games are original PAL. I think I have installed the magic switch tools correctly because the CD's load when the disc tray is open. once the Swap Magic disc has booted up I swap the CD and the CD just spins but the game does not proceed to load. The biggest problem I have is the fact that the Video Mode is still displaying in PAL so I am just getting a flickering screen, so am pretty much using this program blind at the moment.

I hope I am making sense but would be happy to explain further to anyone willing to offer me some helpful advice.

Well your probably not burning your backups correctly. Have you tried switching the video mode in Swap Magic to NTSC? You can patch the games to NTSC as well. You could also patch them to PAL:

If you're too lazy to read, use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, Sony, TDK, Maxell, Sony or Phillips DVD-R's. Avoid Memorex, Staples, Imation, etc.

37. Q. I downloaded a PAL game, how do I convert it to NTSC?
A. Use Adrenaline patcher if it's an EA game: http://www.megagames.com/ps2/ps2_utils_files.shtml#ADRenalin%20Patcher Note: I've been told this works for non EA games as well. The screen won't be perfectly centered, unless you have a modchip that forces video mode.
